By popular request Kult of Athena commissioned a special production run of this sword which had been out of production by Windlass Steelcrafts. This popular model has now finally been brought back for new and established collectors alike!

The Windlass Coustille straddles the threshold between a long-bladed dagger and a short sword; a capable battlefield sidearm for the knight or professional man-at-arms, this short sword gives its bearer the advantage in a close-in grapple whilst remaining just short enough to be unobtrusive and suitable for everyday wear both indoors and in the field.

The blade is 1065 high carbon steel which is mounted into a hilt with a steel crossguard and pommel. The grip is wood with a tight binding of stitched leather. The Coustille is matched with a leather scabbard with steel fittings.

Love Her! Got her today and is she nifty!
    KOA has her razor sharp.
Wood under leather is a bit off but no worry!
Fills a gap in any collection.
    Going to get another!
    Very Happy!

Quality piece. Small, light, and a pleasure to cut with. This blade out performs my long swords cutting through the thicker plastic containers (like Simply Orange for example). One can easily get clean cuts all the way through. When done right you can cut through the same milk container 4-7 times and still leave the bottom unscathed resting where you originally placed it.

The only problem is the dust like material in the scabbard that takes a while to come out. Additionally there is nothing to keep the blade from falling out; it slides pretty easily. One can create a simple latch with spare leather.

I did pay to have it sharpened and they did a good job. Also this is a great little short sword that is a backup up into your arsenal. Not badly made and honestly there’s a writing sword made by legacy that this would partner well with and you would have two nice short swords. Apologies for any mess ups I used talk to text and I’m bad about proofreading .
